Shiromuku white wedding kimono

White Kimono ”Shiromuku”

Shiromuku (白無垢) is a traditional Japanese bridal kimono, primarily worn during Shinto wedding ceremonies. The name “shiromuku” literally means “pure white clothing,” and it is considered a symbol of purity, new beginnings, and the bride’s commitment to her new life with her partner.

The shiromuku is typically made of white silk and is adorned with minimalistic but elegant decorations. The most prominent feature is the plain white color, which signifies purity and the bride’s transition into a new stage of life. Traditionally, the shiromuku was worn to show that the bride had not yet entered the world of the groom’s family and was thus considered “pure” and untouched by outside influences.

Black Hakama

Black Hakama (Montuki-haori-hakama / Monpuku) is the highest grade of kimono for men.
